The new UC Merced * MSSM Friendship Cookie

A Unique Idea...

All net proceeds from the sales of Friendship Cookies will fund a unique MSSM Friendship Scholarship to be awarded to an incoming UC Merced freshman student from any high school within the United States. MSSM Friendship Scholarships are awarded at $4,000 each year and renewable for four years when all criteria is met. Scholarships are not transferable to another school, so the money raised here stays here.

You may be familiar with the Lantern Room on the Fourth floor of the library, named the McFadden – Willis Reading Room in memory of four local children Melanie, Stanley, Stuart and Michelle Willis McFadden. The MSSM Friendship Scholarships were inspired by their lives and this “Cookies For Scholarships” pilot program is an effort to take a new twist – a very tasty one, too! – on the original Friendship Scholarships (available to local Merced Union High School Students attending any college in the United States). As a 501©3 public charity, we need your support to sponsor more scholarships to help students achieve their dreams – and what better idea (YUM!) than “Cookies For Scholarships”? An exclusive Friendship Scholarship for students attending UC Merced, awarded by the same criteria of friendship and service to others.
